KVIP began its ministry with a single AM station at 540 on the dial in Redding, California back in January of 1970. In 1975, our FM station went on the air. In short order, we broadcast to a dozen locations using translators which repeat the FM station’s signal.

It’s long been our desire to reach areas where there is no Christian radio, or to cover a community where existing stations are not programming our family-friendly style of Christian radio. Because of the rough terrain in northern California, KVIP began to distribute programs to outlying areas by satellite.

We are now sending Very Inspiring Programs by satellite to over 110 communities in parts of five states.

Throughout our 38-year history, the stations have been completely listener supported. We do not accept advertisements, and we do not sell blocks of time to programs. God has provided one month at a time for over 38 years. Individuals and families share to keep these stations on the air, and they share to help us expand our ministry to new communities.
